Please be aware that different staff groups have access to different aspects of our service. You can find more about who can access what service in section Eligibility.
Wellbeing Call – We know that it can be difficult to make sense of all the wellbeing information and services out there, particularly when you aren’t feeling your best. After we receive your self-referral form, we can offer you up to a 30 minute phone call to help you find a service suited to your current needs. This will be guided by your self-referral, questionnaire responses and your answers to any additional questions that we may ask you. We have access to a range of professionals with different therapeutic expertise that we can consult with if needed, to ensure that we are considering your needs and suitable services fully.
Signposting – Our wellbeing call may identify an appropriate wellbeing intervention that is provided by a different service. We will guide you to the information you need to access different interventions and services, doing our best to explain how they may benefit you. If the service requires a referral from professionals, we will be able to complete this on your behalf. We have created a Steps to Wellbeing guide that will inform signposting decisions during our wellbeing call.
Counselling – For eligible staff we can offer 6 sessions of person-centred counselling. This is a therapeutic space with a highly skilled professional particularly recommended for individuals wanting support to reflect on life experiences or adjust to significant life changes. Through talking with our qualified counsellors you can be empowered to come to your own conclusions about how best to manage your life experiences. Further information about counselling as a therapeutic option can be found here: COSCA – Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – We can offer up to 12 sessions of remote (phone or video call) high intensity Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) on a 1:1 basis for eligible staff. CBT is a goal-orientated therapy, focused on making changes in the here-and-now. There is an emphasis on learning and practicing skills to work towards desired outcomes, for example learning techniques to enhance emotion management or strengthen healthy thinking patterns. Our qualified CBT therapist will ensure a therapeutic space that is tailored to help you achieve your individual goals. You can learn more about CBT here: BABCP | British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies.
Clinical Psychology – Eligible staff can be offered up to 20 remote (phone or video call) sessions with a clinical psychologist. This therapeutic space uses psychological models to initially provide a helpful understanding to life-long patterns of distress or complex presentations. Later sessions use evidence-based interventions, guided by individual treatment plans alongside clinical guidelines, to promote change. The sessions are goal orientated, though involve focus on past experiences as well as current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. More information about clinical psychology is available here: The British Psychological Society.
