You may be required to have blood borne virus screening for HIV PCR as part of pre-employment screening if you are to perform within an Exposure Prone Procedure (EPP) role. A PCR positive test indicates ongoing infection which is potentially infectious to others.
In the event that this is found to be positive Occupational Health will help and support you in this instance. Please be aware that during infectious episodes of HIV, EPP (Exposure Prone Procedures) duties cannot be carried out and may result in redeployment or deferral.

It is advisable that you are very well hydrated and warm for any blood testing appointments. Please contact our service if you are known to have poor venous access or any other issues which may require additional time for your appointment.
